Introduction:If you love reading books but don't have a ton of money to buy them, here are the top five places to find cheap books.
This may seem a bit obvious, but secondhand bookstores are great when you are looking to buy cheap books. They usually have a large selection of popular titles as well as books you would have a hard time finding anywhere else. Plus, by shopping at secondhand bookstores, you can help out local, small businesses.
Many libraries will have book sales if they need to make more room, so check your local newspaper, look online, or ask friends and family to let you know when the local library is having a book sale. Then, just stock up on some cheap books.
Garage sales and yard sales often have books in them! So in the summer, when your local paper is full of listings for garage sales, check to see if any of them have books, and then go load up! Or just pop into garage sales as you see them. You never know what you might find. And by buying books at a garage sale, you are supporting a local family, which is a great added bonus!
Goodwill Industries is a great organization that helps people in need. Many Goodwill stores carry clothes, furniture, housewares, music, and yes, cheap books. So head to your local Goodwill store and pick up some books. (Maybe donate something while you're there too!)
Cheap books are easy to find online. Try Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Better World Books, Barnes and Noble, or Borders. You can also buy books through major stores like Target and Best Buy through their websites as well.
Many churches, schools, and charitable organizations will also have book sales. Buy cheap books from them and feel really good about helping your community at the same time!
