Introduction:There are many different kinds of saws which can all be used for making and/or building different projects. These saws are all very useful for our everyday projects.
The first saw that I will mention here is the table saw. The table saw has it's own table. That's why the table is actually considered a part of the saw.
It is made for cutting larger pieces of wood and/or materials because the table stabilizes the workpiece.
The second saw that I will mention here is the circular saw. The circular saw is a portable version of the table saw.
The circular saw, which is made more for convenience, is made to take out on the job with you or to carry to your work site.
This saw can be used to rip and to crosscut various forms of materials. The various blades are used for trimming and for framing.
The circular saw has fine toothed, coarse blades. These blades are round saw blades that come in different sizes to use depending on the job that you will be using them for.
The third saw that I will mention here is the jig saw. The jig saw has a straight blade. It also has a small base that you can put up against the workpiece.
The jig saw has fine, coarse teeth. It is also made as a portable saw so that you can take this along with you easily to wherever you will be using it.
The jig saw is designed to make straight or curved cuts. The blade moves up and down. It is made to cut wood, metal, laminates, and such depending on the blade you will be using.
The fourth saw that I will mention here is the power miter saw. The power miter saw is made for cutting more precise angles.
It is used for cutting baseboard and casing for trim work. The miter saw has a gauge on it which can be set to cut various angles like 45 or 90 degree cuts.
The miter saw is mostly used with finer tooth blades for a clean cut for trim work. This also uses a round saw blade which comes in various diameters.
Some miter saws actually have arms on them to make them like miniature radial arm saws for cutting larger pieces of trim.
The last in my list is the radial arm saw. Both this and the table saw have tables. The radial arm saw has the saw motor attached to an arm. This is also used for cutting larger pieces of wood and/or materials.
Unlike the table saw, the saw motor on the radial arm saw moves rather than the material moving.
