Toys for Tots is a great organization to donate to during the holiday season. If you don't know what Toys for Tots is, it is a charitable organization with a great mission. On the Toys for Tots website, it says "The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted." By doing this, they hope to inspire children and give them hope for a brighter future. If you aren't already convinced that you should give by the information in this introduction, here are the top five reasons to donate to Toys for Tots.

Toys For Tots Is a Great Cause

On the Toys for Tots website it says "The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens." Helping children to grow up to be good contributing members of our society is so important if we want to see a bright future for our world.

Donating Will Make You Feel Good

Doing something nice for someone almost always feels good anyway, but doing something for children? That feels even better. Just think about all the cute little faces. Think about the tears that will disappear and the laughter and smiles that will emerge when one of these children open up a brand new toy. Think about the way you would feel as one of these kids' parent! I'm telling you... donating to Toys for Tots will make you feel good about yourself for sure!

It's a Cheap Way to Help

Toys don't have to be costly to be fun. Play-doh, board games, puzzles, stuffed animals, balls, coloring books, and cards can all be found for under $10.00. (Probably for under $5.00 even.) To be able to make such a difference in a child's life for under $10.00 is pretty incredible.

It's an Easy Way to Help

All you have to do is go to a store (which you will probably be doing anyway), buy a toy, and drop it off at a Toys for Tots donation box (there will probably even be one in the store!) How easy is that?

Giving to Toys For Tots Is Fun!

When you give money to organizations, it feels good of course, but is it really fun? I don't know, but donating to Toys for Tots is. Maybe I just love getting an excuse to look at all the toys! And as I am not yet a parent to any humans (I am a parent to a cat and a bird), I rarely get to buy toys for anyone either, so it's fun for me to look at Barbies and Hotwheels and Magic cards. Plus, donating is just fun anyway.

If you are looking for an organization to donate to this holiday season, please consider donating to Toys for Tots. NOTE: You can donate money as well if, for example, you do all your holiday shopping online and won't be out and about.
