Nausea is so annoying and can make your life so miserable while it lasts. Then if it leads to vomiting, things become even more miserable. Thank God, there are some very good herbal teas that help ease or stop nausea quite well.
Ginger has been used for ages to ease and control nausea. One study showed that ginger is as effective for nausea as the prescription drugs, Reglan and Clopra that are used for chemotherapy treatments and the nausea that comes with it. Ginger comes in an organic tea and it is quite tasty and soothing. You can also buy fresh ginger and grate some into a cup of warm water or green tea.
I drink peppermint tea often after my meals to help calm my stomach and help digestion. It is an excellent anti-spasmodic which helps control muscle spasms and vomiting. There are a variety of peppermint teas and the best ones are organic, due to the fact that the leaves are not sprayed with pesticides.
Cinnamon has natural elements called "catechins" that help relieve naausea. Catechins are also in bilberry, hawthorn, white willow, motherwort, sage, olives, strawberries, pears and pecans.
Licorice has been used for centuries to ease and stop nausea as well as healing other digestive problems like ulcers. My favorite licorice tea is Egyptian licorice tea as it has such a good taste and soothes my stomach immediately.
Lemon Grass tea has high anti-bacterial elements in it making it good for the digestive tract. It helps provide relief from nausea and menstrual cramps as well. It is also a good tea to improve skin problems.
Consult your health care provider before drinking any herbal teas if you are on medications as they can interfere with it.
You're right on target when it comes to anti-nausea herbal teas. Thanks for a great list. H5
I have a friend who has Hepatitis C and has constant nausea and vomiting. :( I will send this list to him. Thanks!
I knew about peppermint, but not about the other teas for nausea. I love cinnamon and I'm glad to know it has healing benefits!
Very well presented herbal teas for nausea symptoms.h5
I love wonderful hot tea and all of these are great. Peppermint actually makes me nauseous though so I have to go easy with it. I'm craving licorice tea right now.
