Introduction:Roses are red, violets are blue, candy is sweet, now what about you?
Love on Valentine's Day is often expressed with a big bouquet of roses and a heart shaped box of see's candy. While it may not be the least expensive, it's certainly the easiest and most common of gifts.
What can one do, that is sure to set off those fireworks for real love? What do your gifts say to your lover? Are you a sweetie everyday, or just on Valentine's Day? Do you usually just give a card, and wish the day didn't exist? Well, this may be corny to some, but when it comes to love, what better time to show it. Here are five ways you can make Valentines Day the day, you get to show your love is real.
How do I love thee, let me count the ways.
Include a hand written card or love letter. Even if you're not a poet, words of sentiment mean so much more than any gift. It lets your lover know you took the time to pick out a card, sit down, and write how you feel about them.
Music is always a wonderful way to express love. Not only will the recipient appreciate it, they will never forget the love you share, each time they hear the song.
Make up a CD with a collection of songs that speak to their heart.
Going out to dinner for Valentine's Day is definitely romantic, won't everyone in town be doing it-- so why be like everyone else? Instead plan a candle light dinner just for the two of you. Light a fire, present them with the first give of music you made for them. Now that's romantic. That's love.
Be sure to include their favorite dessert, and make it yourself. If you aren't a good cook or baker, you can cheat. just make sure you pick from the best restaurants, and bakery in town. Don't forget the candy hearts; the one's with words of love written on each one.
Time is of the most precious gifts, and I'm not talking about a watch. Life gets busy; it's too short. Love needs quality time in order for it to grow, so don't let time slip away. Plan a picnic for two at your favorite beach or pick a park setting with a beautiful stream or waterfall, the two of you alone can share. Don't forget the wine, and a couple of pink frosted cupcakes, with candy hearts that say.. I love you. Nothing speaks love on Valentine's Day, like the gift of quality time together.
It's the little things that truly count. An expensive ring or gold necklace might be nice, but what does these gift say if it's just some random thing you happened to find on sale. Make sure the gift you choose to give speaks volumes about why you bought it. Make sure it lets them know, that you pay attention to the little things they say, things they do, things they like, or love. For instance, buying something you want for them to like might say, you want them to learn more or do more for you? While the gift may be appreciated, it's not nearly as special as receiving a gift that says it was purchased "just for you, because you are you". Be spontaneous, surprise them, and give a gift that says "you pay attention" especially to something they weren't even aware you knew. Do this on Valentine's Day and it is sure to let that person knows your love is real. They will say "how did you know"?!
Some people never experience the gift of deeply loving someone, because they're afraid to let down their guards; afraid if they were to share, they might get hurt. Love hurts, but nothing is more rewarding than sharing real love. If you find someone special, and you love them, let them know it. You don't want to let a moment pass where they have to question your love is real so let Valentine's Day be the opportunity to show the heart you give is.
