Introduction:In the current news about Lance Armstrong, there are points that are worth looking at on this list. It is almost a known fact that since the early 1900's sports have been influenced by drugs and shady circumventing of the rules. The regulations set by people of organizations were formed to keep athletes honest, free from performance enhancing methods, yet have frequently fallen short of observing problems until they become mountains of accusations. Cheating is not condoned in any admired society, yet cheaters are sometimes at the top of the pinnacle of success and awards.
Since 1999 Lance Armstrong dominated the cycling arena of Olympic accomplishments. Leading into 2005 people around the world happily cheered the titles won by the sportsman known as Lance Armstrong. The tour de France winning titles were synonymous with his name after The International Cycling Union adorned Lance Armstrong with Olympic strength and winning spirit. It takes so much more than just practice to become an Olympic athlete in the proportion Lance Armstrong has molded into for his $125 million dollar life price tag. Each race his urine or blood tests were monitored and Lance was either permitted to enter the race or proved after the race to be within guidelines for almost a decade. Armstrong knew the strategics of cycling and blood doping too, which allowed some if not all his winning feats.
Lance's bout with prostate cancer alarmed the entire world with his health issues presented in a very public way. Marital discord and divorce then another marriage swelled up world involvement once again for the multi Olympic winner of cycling achievements. Lance's private life has been anything but private and done so with his permission. A huge part of Lance's life has been lived with the public, the cycling campaigns, his foundation he started called "Livestrong", ad involvement in sponsors and insurance company dealings resulting in a $7.5 million dollar settlement happening in 2004. A strong athlete like Lance Armstrong has a busy private life.
Investigations on Lance Armstrong have not been done in a timely manner according to many cyclists not influenced by Lance Armstrong's influence. Paul Kimmage's story states a 2011 revelation that with some strength claims the UCI president, Pat McQuaid and former president, Hein Verbruggen had some questionable application of many aspects of the doping activities prior to the actual date of knowledge. These two have been managing professional cycling for over 20 years. Many witnesses will be surfacing to stand beside Paul since his hearing after the subpoena was given to him on September 19, 2012. The Federation has not been responsible nor fair with all according to accusations which will be surfacing at that trial.
Lance was good. All sports fans liked watching his performance. Many sponsors gave Lance Armstrong his credentials to boast to the world along side the well known products they manufacture and sell. The direction Lance Armstrong took with his Cancer only pulled the impressive athlete into a spin perhaps not able to keep solid footing for fear that he would let his fans down if he did not provide a comeback. Limelight is a drug in itself. The methods that Lance Armstrong was observed to have in proper perspective early on in his cycling career were not viewed sufficient to win, according to what Lance added to his winning ways later in his climb.
The Olympic Federation has successfully removed Lance Armstrong's name from tour titles he won from 1999 to 2005. The highest court of Arbitration for sport took steps and made the decision since Armstrong is waiving the right to appeal. The finding might never reach court decisions if Lance Armstrong settles and leaves the sport with questions of whether he was, in fact truly accused and found to be at fault for the doping of the cycling done both as a cycling squad person and a leader in team cycling. Lance still calls himself a seven time Tour de France winner on his twitter page in spite of the McQuaid announcements.
