Introduction:If like me, you battle genetic high cholesterol; you should incorporate fruit into your daily diet. For optimum health, serve fruit for breakfast, snack on fresh fruit and choose fresh fruit instead of sugary desserts.
Apples take healthy bites out of cholesterol and prevent the oxidation of bad cholesterol. The natural sweeteners in apples enter our bloodstream gradually, which keeps our blood sugar levels steady; thus, we feel full longer.
Blueberries aid our vision and provide significant protection against ulcers. A compound in the blueberry prevents bacteria from sticking to our bladder to guard against bladder infections. Blueberries also act as a natural diuretic.
The phenolic compound in grapes protects the body from LDL cholesterol. Choose red grapes for best benefits. Women - grapes help prevent wrinkles! Process grapes in juicer and apply mash as a facial mask for 15-30 minutes.
Most of us are aware that oranges are rich in vitamin C. If you are a smoker, make certain to eat an orange daily, as it protects against oxidative damage of smoking. Trying to quit cold turkey? Drink a lot of orange juice to make your urine more acidic and clear the nicotine from your body faster.
Arbutin in the cranberry is used in naturopathic medicine to treat candida (yeast infections). Cranberries also have a reputation for fever-fighting. If you have post-nasal drip, drink an 8-ounce glass of cranberry juice daily, before a meal. Cranberries are a deterrent to urinary tract infections.
You will notice bananas didn't make the cut. I have no personal taste for bananas; but, more importantly people watching their blood sugar should be aware that the sugar in bananas is highly concentrated.
Back with another h5
Reviewing your great h5 list of healthy fruits.
Good article on benefits of fruits. I need to pay more attention to diet as I hit my mid 40s
Great list! Have you ever tried yuca?
Nice list Bonnie! 3 times a day!
Congrats and for making me want to eat a 3 am! :)
I'm a fruit lover--good list!!
I'm trying to get more fruits into my diet. I keep fruit juice on hand to drink instead of sodas.
Great list! I am not a huge fan of cranberries, but they are so good for me! I have lived a life plagued with chronic UTIs, so cranberries are a good friend. Sometimes it helps to mix cranberry juice with a little lemon lime soda. It's a fun fizzy drink that helps the urinary tract. :) Once again, great list and congrats on the front page feature. I agree that we should all work hard to make LM5 the #1 writing site! :) With great new writers coming in every day (like you!) hopefully we will see it happen. :)
Congratulations on the front page. Well deserved with this great listMy5 post.
Mmmmm...caramel apples. Gotta get some.
I treasure this accolade. It is indeed an honor to have been selected for a front page article by the ListMY5 staff, considering the short time I've written here. I speak with Truth, never have I met such kind and helpful writers. Congratulations on getting front page xx Nice List!
Great info! 5*'s!
I bought 4 lbs of apples this week, and have gotten through half of them. Of course I also bought a large container of caramel dip to go with them.....
Nice healthy fruit list! I've never heard of the grape face mask for wrinkles...might have to try that one.
I like all of these healthy fruits except cranberries - yuck. I prefer it out of a can if I have to eat it at all.
Yay, Bonnie! You made the front page with your healthy list! Congratulations! It's good to know we'll be eating healthy when we eat cranberries this week!
I love fruit, thanks for the great list!
