Introduction:The more God's creation is studied, the more the immensity and specificity of its complexity is revealed. Even non-Christian scientists now openly admit that there is some sort of "intelligent design" behind creation. It takes humility to believe in God, and eyes that He has opened. The following are but a few of His creations, but they all glorify Him in both His majesty, wisdom, and kindness.
All of God's creations point to Him and glorify Him, but human beings glorify him more than than the rest for the sole reason that they are created in His image.
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27
To know that God exists, all one must do is look around at the diversity of his creation. From the majesty of towering oak trees to the delicate structure and diversity of flowers such as Lantana and Bleeding Hearts, His creation declares His glory, and therefore all men are without excuse for not recognizing Him through His creation.
"For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." Romans 1:20
Consider the Ruby Throated Humming Bird, the Hippopotamus, the Giraffe, a purring kitten. The immensity and variety and depth of the creatures He created is all but beyond comprehension. To suggest that His creation evolved is about as sane as to think a dictionary suddenly appeared from an explosion at a print shop.
"And God said, 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.' So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.' And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. And God said, 'Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds - livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.' And it was so."
Sometimes we take the most basic of gifts for granted, such as the regularity of the turn of the earth and the sun that rises each day, giving warmth and sustaining and giving life. Truly He should be glorified, not just for His creation, but also for His faithfulness in sustaining us!
"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above[a] proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat." Psalms 19:1-6
No one who has ever laid on the ground as a child and watched the changing patterns in the clouds, or who has ever spent the day on on the edge of a continent, staring out at the ocean being lulled by the rhythm of the pulse and drag of the waters crashing and receding from the shore can fail to doubt the the magnificence of God's creation.
John Calvin suggested the waters above were clouds, which makes perfect sense, as they're comprised of water vapor. If he were refering to "waters above" that we've no personal knowledge of yet, this will be revealed in due time.
"And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so." Genesis 1:7
The proper response to God for His creation is gratitude and praise.
"Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness." Psalm 96:11-13
