Introduction:Perhaps your town is known for something special...I grew up in a town that was and I'll put it first on the list...I've found a few others to share as well.
I grew up in Loveland, Colorado and Loveland treats Valentine's Day almost as importantly as Christmas. Hearts with little sayings are hung all over town, the Chamber of Commerce sells a special Valentine, and the Post Office remains Valentines with a special stamp.
How would you like to have your picture taken next to a huge baked potato? You can do that at the Potato Museum in Blackfoot...frees scalloped potatoes with paid admission too! (Seriously)
Seems like everyone has a festival these days...why not go to Bologna Fest? All I know is that it takes place in winter...me, winter, Pennsylvania...the odds are pretty slim. The cold weather aside, I might look it up some interesting bologna ideas.
A shoe manufacturer started donating carousels to the parks...and thought they should always be free. He donated six and some or all are still operating...brings back some good memories.
This had to make the list...too fun to leave off! Wren, Ohio's claim to fame is that this id the Wiffleball capital of the world! How fun is that? Over 1,000 people coming to watch Wiffleball games? That's fun and impressive but no mention of what spoils the winners take home.
I enjoyed finding these...perhaps I'll look for some more...this was a fun list to write!
