Introduction:Winter can be such a long season for those of us that don't care for the cold. Here are some things that you can enjoy doing inside and still get some exercise in.
Bowling is for the whole family to do. No matter if you are very young or older, you can enjoy the sport of bowling. Bowling is good exercise for you. You are up off of the couch and using your muscles. Bowling is using your arm muscles and your leg muscles. You are bending at the waste as you are dropping the ball. Think of all the muscles you are using while bowling not to mention all the fun you are enjoying with your family. Why not take the family out and enjoy an hour or two bowling with the kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews or whoever you can think of.
Indoor roller skating and roller blading are both enjoyable things to do with the family. There are so many indoor skating rinks that you can take advantage of. If you aren't a skater, they have walkers that you can take on the rink with you to help you out. This is good exercise since you are using your muscles and pumping that heart. The kids love it. Try it out and grab the family and do some roller skating or roller blading.
Ice skating isn't just an outdoor sport. There are areas that have indoor ice skate rinks that you can enjoy ice skating where it isn't so cold. Look around your area where you live or google it and see if there is a location near you. Ice skating is a good sport to pump your heart and use some of your muscles that haven't been used since the summer months.
Grab your tennies and the family and find an indoor health club or school where you can enjoy a fun healthy game of basketball. Basketball is a good stress reliever and good cardio sport to enjoy both indoors and outside.
Gymnastics is another excellent sport to enjoy. There are many areas that offer gymnastics inside. Not only can you do the normal tumbling but you can try walking the balance beam or jumping on the trampoline or even try pulling yourself up on the bars. Look around and see if you can find a place that offers open gymnastics somewhere near where you live.
These are all enjoyable things you can do inside during the cold winter months or anytime of the year. They are all healthy sports to keep your body and mind in shape. These sports are not only healthy for your body but also does a number on your mind.

Nice. I realize that bowling is a really good way to get everyone out, from my 67 year old mother to my 3 year old. Everyone can have fun. Good list.
Except for gymnastics, my family love to do all of these. But my daughter has been hinting that she would love to get involved in gymnastics.

These are all great indoor sports and so much fun to brighten up the winter. Indoor soccer is also a fun indoor sport for kids.
