Introduction:We all love a cheap thrill. Everybody appreciates a good horror movie, but zombie movies are different. They incite a primal fear in all of us. It is something that seems completely alien to us all, but somehow completely possible.
The original Night of the Living Dead movie is credited with sparking the whole genre. The difference between this movie and the rest is this does not cover a certain age group. It scares you with the idea of the unknown. The dead are suddenly rising. They are not fast, nor smart, but if they gang up on you then you are finished. The black and white contrast while not intentional at the time, is terrifying. It goes to show that you should not only be afraid of what is right in front of you, but what is lurking in the shadows.
They made 6 Return of the Living dead movies in total. Rave to the Grave scared the pants off of everyone, especially kids around the college age. The reason it freaks so many people out is because we all know there is a whole bunch of new drugs, pharmaceutical and otherwise, being put out all the time. Who is not to say that this might be the awful side effect of one of these drugs? Will this make you think twice before your doctor prescribes you the next new pill?
While they have made a ton of Resident Evil movies throughout the year the first one was the very best. Even if you have never played the video games you could watch this movie and get the shivers. You begin to think about things that you know nothing about, such as the underground base in the movie. There may be something along these lines in place that we know nothing about. if something goes wrong in this situation would you be prepared for it?
While the original Dawn of the Dead was a classic. The remake of the classic film had something a little different, it turned the scenario into a modern day classic. It is easy to watch the remake of this and it hits a little closer then home. It makes the younger crowd think about their local mall that they go to every weekend. It sparks the imagination and as you are walking through your own local mall you find yourself wondering if you would survive the encounter in that situation.
The prospect of zombies existing alone are terrifying. Now imagine if they could run faster then you can ever imagine and have the viciousness of a rabid dog. This movie features people trying to survive that very situation. An experiment goes horribly wrong and causes the dead to reanimate with one thought on their mind, killing. Even if you are athletically fit you still would not be able to outrun these monsters. So the question is, are you going to be able to outwit them?
