Martinique is not very well known and perhaps that is why I like this destination so much. Many people disregard this island because it is out of the way and is not a mecca for tourists. The sand is like dust it is so fine on the beaches of Martinique. The color of the sand is a camel and ivory mix. This is a French name and some natives actually speak French dialect. The crystal clear green and blue water is inviting to swim in but when I was there it was not recommended. The jelly fish were plentiful and they sting people. Martinique is a lovely island to visit and enjoy the people there too.
When you hear of travel destinations, Puerto Rico is not at the top of the list of places to visit. I went there because my father had moved there to see if he wanted to retire there. He found it extremely inexpensive and many of the needs for him were met there. The mild temperature all year round is delightfully tepid of about high 70's to mid 80's. The rainfall is sufficient to keep the beauty of the foliage and flowers in Puerto Rico. People are friendly and it is a fun filled place to visit. Make sure you put Puerto Rico on your vacation list.
I went to Bermuda two times. Once it was a port of call on a cruise. I liked it so much and only spent little time there, so made it a point to go back for a week. I rented a scooter and drove all over the island. The sightseeing is easily done by scooter, rented car or by sightseeing taxi. Look at the interesting things to do and see there so you don't miss your desires to see while you visit Bermuda. You will find Bermuda a great get away and only a few hours flight from the United States. Bermuda is a great destination for the whole family.
During the middle of 1990's Egypt was just beginning to be a volatile country. There were unsettled riots when I was there so it was necessary to have a trained escort to drive and keep me and my family safe from some locals. The rich history certainly overwhelms the danger I knew about then. Now, Egypt is unsafe for tourists unless you are well protected. The tunnels in the pyramids were a living experience I wanted to see face to face for decades. Flying to Aswan, I saw the Red Sea which was a religious experience I will never forget. King Tut museum is a one of a kind sightseeing place as is Egypt a most valued Country to visit.
Being part Irish I wanted to visit that country even though no relatives were living there when I went. The cliffs of Mohr are a must see and renting a car, I think is the best way to see the entire Emerald Isle in more than a week. The Book of Kells was on my list as was the Church Christopher Columbus visited prior to embarking on his journey across the Atlantic. Make out your list of things you want to see and plan your trip to Ireland on that. You will be forever thinking about how wonderful Ireland is. I know I do.
