Get a license through your state that will allow you to watch children in your home. Most states require a license. If you are caught without one you could be faced with a fine.
Some states may require a cpr certification before you can get a liscence. Its good to know what to do in case you have an emergency. Plus having a cpr certification will put parents at ease when leaving their children with you
Go through your house and prepare it for children coming into your home. Put knickknacks and things you don't want out away. Make sure anything hazardous is put up as well
Go out and buy stuff for your home. You will need toys, blankets, diapers, wipes, stuff for them to eat off of, high chairs, and maybe a playpen. Make sure you have a first aid kit handy as well.
Make a schedule of activities you will do and foods you will feed the children. If you have a plan ahead of time you will be less stressed when you are with the children. Too many children in one area without anything to do can be a nightmare
