Introduction:Stopping smoking is multi-faceted since it takes more than will power for some to quit that habit. Many years ago this was devised by the author since many other attempts to quit smoking were not successful. Reactions to some of the nicotine on the patches left scars on my sensitive skin steering me away from them forever. The many other attempts had side effects that had me growing weary about ever being able to quit smoking. Thoughts ran through my head and the successful results to stop smoking are listed. This is a good New Year's resolution to consider since you can quit smoking with these techniques.
A person actually needs to want to quit smoking. It really does not matter if it is for themselves or others. In the past it was documented it must be a personal desire, however that is really not true. When you love another person and want to be around them for longer, your thought to quit smoking can be a very strong desire. It really pays to think about the loves of your life to come to a decision to quit smoking. Your personal health is a primary focus for you and your family. Plan a way you will someday be a non smoking person. Imagine this being true, since you will be not smoking someday. Think deeply about your will and work out your plan to stop smoking without drugs. Filling your body with chemicals to get rid of one bad habit is not healthy. Work this plan to naturally stop the bad habit without replacing it with anything that is not good. Every drug has a side effect. Plan on working this plan to a successful no smoking status. You don't need to put a date on it, just yet, but you will need to know you will be working a great plan to quit smoking.
If telling others what you are doing will help you, tell them. If it is better for you to work alone, do that too. What ever works for you, do it. This plan is only yours. It is up to you to share it or not with those who might and might not understand your plight. Keep focused no matter what anyone thinks of your plan. Do it anyway, because it has been proven successful for many.
Collect your tools to quit smoking. Save an old, empty box or package of cigarettes. Find a straw that is the same diameter as your brand is that you are smoking now. Cut several straws the length of your cigarette. Stuff soft paper towel or tissues into the straws until they are dense with paper. Put those homemade cigarettes in the pack. Get a spiral ring notebook or use your computer to keep track of all your information. Begin one day to count the number of cigarettes you smoke in 24 hours. Count them all.
One day, choose to decrease one cigarette a day from the total number of cigarettes you smoke. Use your homemade cigarettes anytime you want to smoke a real cigarette. Even if you go two days or more with eliminating that one cigarette you will have accomplished working your plan to stop smoking.
Any day you can decrease one more cigarette from the total number of cigarettes you smoke you will be on your way to one other fewer cigarettes you smoke. Your list will be there to refer back to so you will keep on track. Go at your own pace so withdrawal will not be hindering you from stopping smoking. Decrease another cigarette from your list as you plan on doing until you no longer smoke any cigarettes. Do this at your own pace.
You can use your homemade cigarettes anywhere. People might just think it is a good plan for them to have better health and quit smoking using these techniques.
