Maybe the first signs of a cold will be some sniffles. Your nose will either run or get all stuffed up. You might have some problems keeping the nose from dripping. No matter how much you blow your nose, it seems to keep running. The sniffles are bothersome and require some real diligence to keep hygiene intact.
Sneezing is another symptom of the onset of a common cold. Not all sneezes turn into a cold, but when the cold gets a hold, you know the sneezes are part of the annoyances of that cold. Sneezing seems to happen without too much notice and the sneezes come in a group.
Common colds sometimes have a symptom of a sore throat. This can be the onset of the cold since a cold is accompanied by many things as the cold progresses. Sore throats can come on sudden and seem to get worse as the cold lingers. Sore throats sometimes affect our speech by causing the loss of the voice.
A cough is a symptom of a cold. The mucous from the throat and the nose create that cough. The cough keeps us annoyed during the day, but most often rob us of needed rest and sleep at night. Coughs are either productive or non productive in nature. Coughs vary from person to person and must be covered to protect others from the germs coughs produce.
A common cold sometimes makes a person so tired that they want to take naps and sleep a lot. Sleep is healing, but this symptom does more than it should unless the person with the cold actually gets the sleep to get rid of the cold symptoms and get well. Being tired is a real annoyance to working people.
