Introduction:I know this is a topic that no one wants to think about but it is so important to have a will even at a young age. You never know what might happen. You don't want the state to choose where your kids go or where your money and your other property would go to. Be sure to go and get a will written up either by you online or through an attorney. It makes so much sense to have a will so you know that your loved ones are protected.
If you have a will, your family will receive all your belongs. If you didn't have a will, who knows who will get everything you own. If you don't have a will, the state can jump in and say who will get the estate.
If you have a will, you can state in the will who will get what if you choose. For instance, if you have a certain car that you want a certain person to inherit, you can put that in your will.
If you have a will, you can state what you want in a living will as far as if you are just hanging on, do you want them to pull the plug or keep you going.
If you are a parent of young children, you would want to designate who will take over caring for your children. If you have a will, you would state in your will who would take care of your children if something would happen to you. If you didn't have a will, the state would designate who would take over and raise your children. Your will would also state what type of schooling your young children would have.
If you have a will, you could put down what would happen to your body after you die. Do you want to be cremated? If so, put that down in your way.
Studies show that 7 out of 10 people do not have a will. It is very important for everyone to have a will. You are never too young to have a will. You never know what might happen to you. If you are just a 20 year old, it is still important for you to have a will. There are sites online that are free for you to write your own will if you prefer not to have an attorney. Personally I prefer Quicken Willmaker which is a site online. They charge a fee but they are very easy and secure. If you prefer to write up a will that doesn't charge you then google "free wills online" and you will find several websites that will help you write a will online. I have listed a few sites attached to look into if you choose to write your own will. They are very easy to write. You want to make sure that you have the authority to say who gets your belongings. Don't let the state decide where your children would go and where your property and estate would go. Take charge and make sure that you and all your loved ones have a will written up whether it is done by an attorney or online.
