Introduction:You know that thing... the whatchamacallit... I know it has a name... Well, here are five things that maybe you did not know had names. But now you do, so feel free to impress your friends.
Whenever you are eating food such as watermelon and spit out the seeds, or a less than perfect steak and spit out the fat, or maybe a banana and you pick one of those strings from your teeth? Those are chankings! Yuck! Next word, please!
An armsaye is the hole where you insert your arm on a shirt, blouse, coat, etc. Yes, you could just call it the armhole. And you could just eat your caviar with your fingers, you uncivilized barbarian!
I might need a moment here as my tummy just had a bit of a wamble. That is to say there is a rumble in my gut. Could be nausea or I might just be a bit peckish.
I just love the gentle scroop of a fine robe after a long bath. Scroop, in this case, means the rustle of silk or other fine fabric. It can also refer to the screechy sound a door on rusty hinges makes, but everybody knows that.
You know that feeling you get prior to paresthesia? That's called obdormition. Oh, that doesn't clear it up for you? Well, pick up a dictionary, lazybones! Or at least Google it. I can't teach you everything, you know!
So there you have a few new words that you are likely wondering how you ever did without. Now I am off to take care of that wamble...
Nice list. Wished we had a sound button so we can hear how to say some of those words. LOL
I actually knew one of those, but I dare not say which one.
Thank you for your great list. Well done. High 5
