Introduction:My hubby is a big coffee drinker and as we have traveled the US for the past 6 months he has managed to find Starbucks in almost every town. I occasionally order a chai or green tea latte and it is the predictability that keeps us returning.
No matter where you are looking for a cup of coffee or tea, a frappaccino or hot chocolate you are probably not more than a few miles from a Starbucks and there is comfort in that.
Knowing what to expect, with regards to product and service is why chain stores are so popular in general.
Starbucks may not have the best coffee (or even close) but you know exactly what you will get which is more than you can say about the gas station coffee.
No matter where you find your Starbucks you will find friendly, smiling barristas. I like this; I like being treated as a valuable customer (which I am) and I like being able to make special requests that does not cause a raised eyebrow.
How many times have you gone into a small restaurant or coffee shop only to feel a little grubby? Perhaps the tables have not been cleaned properly or there is grime on the seats and walls. Worse are the sketchy bathrooms where concern outweighs relief.
Starbucks everywhere are always clean...everywhere.
I have sometimes sat through 3 separate hour-long meetings in a Starbucks nursing a single drink. You can sit in a Starbucks for hours and no one will give you a hard time. Many people use their local Starbucks as a place to get work done; there is wifi, friendly ambiance and you can people watch without being creepy.
It is important to support work places that are doing it right and Starbucks is doing it (mostly) right. They are not perfect and there are plenty of (past) employees who can share the negatives but Starbucks offers its workers health benefits (including same-sex partners), college tuition, promotion opportunities and, usually, a positive work environment.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a diehard Starbucks fan, my choice would always be to support small, locally owned (preferably organic) coffee house but there are times when Starbucks is the right fit.
I don't drank coffee much but my wife loves coffee. She drinks about three four cup a day.She will go broke if she start drinking Starbucks everyday.Their coffee is good.
My five reasons: coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, & coffee :)
