Introduction:I wanted to add a list of spots that are sometimes over looked for vacation ideas with most people going to Florida, Hawaii, or my home state of California for getaways.
New Hampshire: "The Granite State" is known for its autumn leave colors, and they are fun to look at but New Hampshire in the summer is great. The summer outdoor activity will keep you coming back from fishing and camping to hiking to the top of Mt. Washington or a northern arm of the Appellation Trail.
South Dakota: I feel this is amazing country with a chance to see wild buffalo and trying some farm raised for a meal you will appreciate this majestic animal. The Corn Palace, Mt Rushmore and the badlands are just a few of the sights in this hidden gem of a state. The Native American Art is one of my favorites also.
Rural Pennsylvania: Most people think Pittsburg, or Philadelphia is what to see in Pennsylvania. The rural part of the state will remind you of the words, "God's Country" from the rural faming towns and Amish communities to the Civil sites this is a must see part of the country.
Oregon: I know you think rain, yes. but not all the time, and did you know that Oregon has a high desert? The state is also famous for Creator Lake a lake that formed from a collapsed volcano. The coast is spectacular and the local sea food is top rated.
Rhode Island: The state with more protected and ocean front beaches that I can even count. Rhode Island is the place to go if you want to have more than one beach experience in a day, have a lobster dinner and visit the historic colonial era New England sights all one vacation spot.
This is just a small list of the hidden gems that we call America. I hope you can enjoy some of them in your lifetime.
