The world's tallest animal, the giraffe is unique to the African plains. This unique mammal sure has abundance in terms of length. Its legs alone are about 6 feet. Its entire size is an astounding 20 feet. Even their tongues are long- a whooping 20 Inches. Giraffes put their height to good use- they comfortably feed on treetop leaves and buds.
Africa is also home to the largest reptile in the world, the Nile crocodile. They measure up to 16 Ft long. These vicious reptiles are responsible for hundreds of human deaths every year. They are known to ambush unsuspecting people as they go down the river for water.
The largest living primate, the Gorilla, roams the jungles of the African continent. This shy animal forages the jungle forests for leaves, nuts and berries. Like humans, the Ma-gorilla nurses her young for up to 3 years.
The Cheetah is world famous for its super speed, reaching up to 70 mph in a short bust. It is the worlds fastest land animal. Though relatively smaller in size when compared to other big cats, what the cheetah lacks in mass, it compensates with lightning speed.
