First you will need to measure the width and the length of the room. Use a tape measure to ensure accuracy. It never hurts to mesaure twice.
Write down the mesurements you just took for the legth and width of the room. For example write down L=12 feet and W=14 feet. Make sure you write the measurements down correctly.
You will need a calculator to figure the square footage. If you feel comfortable with your own math skills you can figure the measurements yourself. But to be on the safe side a calculator can be helpful.
Now you will multiply the legth and the width of the room. L X W + Square Footage. For example 12 feet by 14 feet equals 168 square feet.
Make sure you write down the square footage of the room. Keeping a recording of the square footage will save you time in the future as you won't have to remeasure the room.
