Introduction:Surprisingly enough there aren't a lot of gaming conventions in NYC itself but there are a number of good ones across New York State. Here are the top five:
An annual video gaming, top top gaming, anime and sci-fi convention hosted every February at Rensselaer Ploytechnic Institute in Troy, NY (outside of Albany). There are a good number of college cons in NY but this is the largest.
This has been canceled recently due to the sequestration, but if/when they come back it is a blast to play some war games and tabletop mini games with military cadets! Hosted at the US Military Academy at West Point in April.
Long Island is another area of New York without much in the way of gaming cons. RetCon fills the gap each summer in August in Plainview, NY.
This long running con is held annual over the Columbus Day weekend in Schenectady, NY (outside of Albany). It's hosted by the Schenectady Wargame Association but features table top games of all types.
The newest gaming con on the list (2014 will be their third year). Queen City Conquest is held annually over Labor Day Weekend in Buffalo, NY.
There are a number of other smaller cons and there is also some gaming each year at NYC Comic Con. For the full list check below:
