Introduction:A few more fun facts (and one obvious one) that you might not realize about this third week of November includes these little gems!
Did you know that November 18th-24th is National Book Awareness week? I think it is a little sad. As much as I like books, I see everything being digital in the next ten years. I would no be surprised if there is already a National E-book week.
Today. November 19th is National Toilet Day. It sounds gross but it is an effort to raise awareness that there are 2.6 Billion people without access to proper sanitation. I looked around on the site a bit and they have some points that I think are excellent.
November 20th is Name your PC day. I had to include this on the list because my dad, (who passed in 2000), named his PC "Fred" -I can tell you that the last three letters stood for "ridiculous electrical device".you'll have to use your imagination for the rest.
Of course I had to mention Thanksgiving. It's not really a fun fact or little known celebration but sometimes we just can't omit the obvious! As for me and my family, we are traveling about an hour to spend the day with my mom and grandma.taking containers for leftovers!
In a tough economy it is especially important to remember the small businesses. Small business creates a lot of jobs and even they are having a tough time. I'd encourage everyone to see what the folks in your community have to offer and plan to give them a little business this holiday season.
Enjoy your week and have a little chuckle over some of these!
When I was first married I used an outhouse and so I would definitely celebrate the toilet day and have fond memories of when I no longer used the out house anymore.
Any of us who have a toilet, or two, are very fortunate. I am glad I saw this list today so that I could celebrate by cleaning mine. :)
