Introduction:Not long ago, I was watching a movie with a friend and she commented on the magical theme behind it. I replied that it's a shame so many people stop believing in magic. Her response surprised me. "That's because magic isn't real." she said as matter-of-factly as she would state the time. I couldn't believe my ears. I still believe in magic and I always will.
How can anyone who has ever celebrated Christmas announce that magic isn't real? I know its real. I feel it in the air, building to a crescendo as Christmas approaches. Suddenly, grumpy misplaced people begin to smile and greet others with warmth in the heart. Boxes mysteriously appear at the homes of the poor, dinners tied up in bows arrive in time for a Christmas feast and packages appear beneath the tree. Children squeal and mother's weep at the miracle of it all. "Yes, I believe in magic."
New born babies enter the world with perfect skin, bright eager eyes and the ability to love. These precious gifts nuzzle into the folds of their mothers body and sleep peacefully in newborn bliss. "Yes, I believe in magic."
Country skies glisten with shimmering stars against a blue-black sky, whispering silently of cosmic secrets. Countless galaxies stretch as far as the eye can see--unnumbered and unexplored. The trail of the shooting star flits across the sky and once again I say, "Yes. I believe in magic."
The robin returns each spring to set up camp in his old neighborhood and sings boldly to announce his arrival. Spring peepers "sing" like a million tiny bells ringing in the night. The moist warm air falls softly on my face and I say, "Yes, I believe in magic."
Green shoots emerge when snow is gone, growing quickly into lush tall plants. Tightly closed buds form, then open revealing a breathtaking flowers that unfolds in waves of beauty, and I say, "Yes, I believe in magic."
You may prefer to use the word God, the Almighty or a higher power instead of magic. Whatever ever you choose to call it--may it fill your life today so you can join me in saying, "Yes. I believe in magic."

I am a believer too. There is something special that God can do to make all those things possible and the only words I can think of are "magical miracles." Thanks for publishing this on List My Five.
