Introduction:A lot of new people are going to be traveling to the Dallas/Fort Worth area during Superbowl weekend in February 2011. Some attractions should not be missed by these football fans.
Fort Worth is also called Cowtown by locals. The Fort Worth Stockyards is like stepping back into the old West. Texas' largest nightclub, Billy Bob's, is located there along with the actual stockyards, many western shops and good restaurants.
Fort Worth is lucky and smart enough to have several world class museums. The Kimbell's architecture and art collection are truly impressive and the Modern Museum of Fort Worth is a sight to behold.
Bishop Arts District was originally a trolley stop in Oak Cliff back in the thirties and is now an eclectic collection of unique restaurants, boutiques and galleries. It's completely unique in Dallas.
Fair Park houses the largest collection of large art deco exhibition buildings in the United states. It is listed on the National Historic Register. There are 5 museums in Fair Park, including the science museum, an IMAX, the African American museum, The Women's Museum and Museum of the American Railroad.
The Nasher Sculpture Garden in Dallas' Arts District is so worth a visit. World renowned sculptures abound there. And the traveling exhibits are great. The Dallas Museum of Art has a great modern collection of art.
These are just some of the things to do in DFW. Great shopping abounds along with a thriving restaurant scene. Honorable mentions are North Park Mall, Highland Park Village and the Galleria.
Thank you for the attractions at the destination of Dallas Fort Worth. I have been stranded a time or two in DFW airport area. Now I know some things to enjoy.h5
Sounds like a very interesting town, with losts to see! I would love to see the buildings in Fair Park!
Texas rocks from Amarillo to Corpus Christi! The Superbowl will be great to see in DFW.
LOL! Somehow I find the stockyard being so near the restaurants rather handy. : )
It also sounds like there is a lot of art and culture in Dallas/Ft. Worth...and not just cowboy culture.
