Introduction:This is only a short summary of LBGTQ educational points. It does not fully explain any of the areas of homosexuality nor does it fully explain the psychology behind any of these points.
LGBTQ is a compilation of letters to simplify the communities people put themselves into in the societies of the world. Lesbians are known to be women who have partners of that same sex. In other words women in a relationship with another woman. This area can be sometimes confused with other gay communities, but the "L" stands for lesbians. Many Lesbians have different labels for their place in a family unity. For instance if there are children from a previous heterosexual relationship, the child is given directives to address the two lesbians. One thought is that one is mother 1 and the other is mother #2 Another plan is for one to be the head of the household and then other to just be considered a partner. This discussion has many more labels as well.
Long before the communities of LGBTQ were formed all people who chose a lifestyle other than heterosexism were all clumped into the word "GAY". Since some people still consider themselves gay, the LGBTQ has incorporated that "G" in the label. Gay rights still have the label of "Gay" in those focuses. The facts of heterosexism being superior is often misled in many interviews with open minded people. The gay communities quite often steer toward that thought, but culturally it has not been proven to be true with everyone screened for their opinion. Gays are the opposite of straight in the context of discussions.
Bisexuals are described best by the full label of the "B" in a LGBTQ topic. It is considered to be a person who likes partners of each sex in their relationships. Over a period of time bisexuals introduce themselves as both male and female. Bi meaning two and sexual as a preferred sexual partner they choose at that time. Bisexuals can be considered a little of both sexes depending on their appearances and actual physical parts. Since Bisexuality is recognized as a label to lean toward both sexes. The word bi was introduced into the community of homosexuals as people came out of the closet admitting their sexuality.
In The LGBTQ communities, the "T" is told to be for transvestites. As Joan Rivers so publicly said before she went into a hospital for routine surgery. transvestite Michelle, the former first lady was labeled that in a solemn statement. The idea that a high government officials wife was a transvestite was quickly shut down by the mainstream press and news networks. A transvestite is a person who is not fully a male or female, but a little of both. One can observe a transvestite dressing like a woman, but actually physically being a man. Some beliefs remain that Michelle is a transvestite since her husband was said to be homosexual.
Yes, even the LBGTQ communities acknowledge the "Q" in the LGBTQ homosexuality discussion. Some people's opinion is that there is a dual spirit in queers. Some explain the queers as two spirited and then the LGBTQ becomes a label of LGBTTQ . Please note the double "T" in the latter label. In the early discovery and public acknowledgement of the LGBTQ communities homosexuality had a label of queer and that is still acknowledged in the present label as it is at present. Some people are hushed for using the queer word, however it is widely acknowledged in that label used in the homosexual community.
