Sometimes you may need to find a place to stay while traveling. Maybe you were delayed by car trouble, forgot to make hotel reservations or got tired of driving. You can't find a place to stay and you do not know what to do. There is usually a Walmart parking lot in a town along the way. The store offers weary travelers the opportunity to stay the night.

Well Lit

When you take advantage of Walmart overnight parking, you can feel safe because of all of the lights. A Walmart parking lot has many spaces and it is well lit. Many of the stores stay open 24 hours or at least most of the day and night. You feel better when there are people around.

Other Travelers

There are usually other travelers and truckers staying in a Walmart parking lot. Find a space nearby where you see them staying. There is safety in numbers and it makes you feel more at ease. It is also a signal that overnight parking at Walmart is allowed. Most of the stores let you stay, but a few of them do not. You need to check to make sure it is okay.

Walmart Amenities

There are some amenities you can take advantage of while staying the night in a Walmart parking lot. You can use the restroom or purchase a snack in the store. Some of the stores have fast food restaurant chains occupying rented space. For breakfast, you can purchase fresh pastries at the bakery.

It Is Free

The best thing about Walmart overnight parking is that it is free. It can make traveling affordable. You will save money by not staying at a campground or hotel. As long as travelers are respectful, overnight parking at Walmart will continue. It is important not to take advantage of the privilege and only stay one night.
