For Americans who haven't had enough of the Bush family, Jeb is waiting in the wings to be called at the last minute to save the Republican Party. His father cried when Jeb left the Florida governorship in disgrace, but even diehard Bush fans undoubtedly realize that the country has had too much exposure to the Bush family.
Comedians call Michele Bachmann "Sarah Palin Lite," in reaction to her apparent lack of knowledge, and preparation, to run as a candidate for the highest American office. Bachmann's last public statement reported that no society in the last 5,000 years has legally recognized gay marriage. Since scientists date the planet's age at approximately 6,000 years, Bachmann's comment makes observers wonder what else is in store, if she does become the Republican candidate.
From the man who bankrupted hotels and casinos from New Jersey to Las Vegas since the 1980s, Trump wants to bring his expertise in hosting television game shows to the high political office. The highest-rated television shows today include "Dancing with the Stars" and "American Idol," so Trump may just have the inside track to the American voter. The U.S. can then declare bankruptcy and ask the U.S. Congress to have a dance off to operate a business for a few days.
Newton Leroy Gingrich fell from grace as Speaker of the House in 1998 with his defeat for the congressional seat he held since 1976. Mr. Gingrich has a lot of reinventing to do to recast his image to match his personal rhetoric. Gingrich was charged and found guilty by the House of Representatives of violating house ethics, the first time the Speaker was charged and disciplined for ethics issues.
Gingrich also maintains he believes in family values and marriage, but he has been divorced twice. His first wife states Gingrich asked her for a divorce while she was hospitalized for cancer. Gingrich had an affair with a congressional aid more than 20 years his junior during his public outrage against then President Clinton's affair with a congressional staff member.
Sarah Palin failed to capture audiences for her Alaska travel show, a la Ronald Reagan's "Death Valley Days," and continues to provide fodder for humorists as a political commentator for Fox News. While she has learned, after weeks of intensive prepping by the Fox staff after executives ruled she was too ignorant of basic news facts and well-known events, Palin continues to comment with sweeping generalities and weekly bits of misinformation and creative fact. It will be curious to see if the voters will support a candidate who took six years and six colleges to complete a basic bachelor's degree.
Nice list!
Ron Paul is not on your list and he is my candidate if he says he will run for President.
