All pets love to learn and perform tricks...
This is by far the easiest trick you can teach your goldfish. In fact, its so easy that you can pretty much do it by not doing anything at all...really. Your pet is guaranteed to learn this trick if given enough time.
You may be thinking this is actually a pretty hard trick to teach, but drop any small item into your goldfish bowl, and see how long it takes before Skippy goes over to try to collect it, or eat it. Goldfish are curious little buggers.
This is a lot like trick number one. The only drawback to teaching this trick to your goldfish is that he or she will usually follow it up with trick #1...then refuse to do any more tricks at all. Goldfish can be stubborn that way.
Goldfish are natural whistlers. They actually whistle all the time while going about their daily routine. You can hear this if you stick your head in the water and concentrate. Teaching Skippy to whistle on command is pretty easy because Skippy by default is a natural whistler. Most people don't know that.
Again, a natural for Skippy, especially immediately prior to rolling over and playing dead. Goldfish like to blow bubbles while they whistle, which actually makes them pretty popular in the back woods of southern Appalachia...from what I hear.
You probably don't really want to try teaching these tricks to Skippy. He has some pride. Let him keep it.
I had a goldfish when I was very young. I only had him a short time. I don't even remember his name. h5 list thank you for the ideas.
Excellent list. H5.
thanks litetender! check out that link I provided... You can actually buy little underwater sports games your goldfish can play! =)
You are so funny. I remember when I was a kid, we thought we had my cousin's fish "trained" because we tapped on the side of the tank every time before we fed them, and they'd come swimming to where we tapped!
