Raisins got a big push back in the 80's and 90's with the marketing of California Raisins and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"
When we go to a buffet, I can always count on grandma going for some of the carrot salad with raisins. Broccoli salad has raisins and also several salad bars have raisins that you can top your salad with.
Stuffing is a good place for raisins. After all, you already ahave a little sweetness in the stuffing if you have apples. so add it in along with the cornbread, celery, and a little sausage.
The first thing that came to mind was rice pudding and that was closely followed by bread pudding...both of which have raisins in them typically. Great ideas...and I was blown away by an idea to make bread pudding using gingerbread!
Everybody's favorite or least favorite. It seems like there is no middle ground on this one. Fruitcake is made with raisins, other candied fruits, dried furits, and nuts. Fruitcakes were far more common when I was younger. I like them.
I've read at least one recipe with candied sweet potatoes that get "studded" with raisins. What I really think of in terms of "other foods" is anything that you might prepare with apples might be a good candidate for raisins. Pork comes to mind...depending on how you cook it.
The raisin is probably far more versatile than you might have imagined before reading this list.
