I have been a Wamu Customer for more than 10 years. It was converted to Chase after Wamu's failure. Despite the change I have loved the service both banks provide. Here are some reasons I love my Chase Freedom card.
I went to deposit money at my local branch recently and they told me if I applied for the freedom card I would earn $100 after my first charge. You get 10,000 bonus points after the first charge which equals $100. That's plain awesome.
If you use the card you get 1% on all purchases, certain purchases are 2%, and the rotating categories are 5%. This is fantastic! I figured out that the cash back value of my American Express points was .7%. This beats that program any day.
I use my Discover card during for the 5% cash back on categories. Well the Freedom card beats out the Discover card for cash back. There are no spending tiers to get to 1%, there is also not a yearly limit.
The ultimate rewards program is aimed at loyal American Express users. Ultimate rewards points can be redeemed for cash or gift cards, merchandise, travel and may other things. I find that the points are worth more on Ultimate rewards rather than Membership rewards from American Express.
On top of the standard 1% cash back on purchases, Chase customers get 10% additional points, and they get 10 points added on to each transaction. For small and large purchases alike points will add up quickly with the bonuses.
I am quite pleased with my new Chase Freedom card, it is rapidly taking the place of my American Express and Discover cards in my wallet.
Nice list!
You have to be wary of all the details with a credit card. Thanks for these highlights.
