This stamp recognizes the centennial birth of Ronald Reagan (1911-2004). Ronald Reagan was a well-known actor and the 40th president of the United States of America.
Helen Hayes was a Tony award winning actress who appeared in more than 100 stage productions, including Happy Birthday (1946), Time Remembered (1957), and A Touch of the Poet (1958).
These stamps begin a series commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The 2011 stamps depict the start of the war at Ft. Sumter, SC and the first major battle of the war at Bull Run, near Mannassas, VA.
This stamp commemorates Owney, a dog who worked for the post office guarding bags of mail on trains. Owney was considered good luck by Railway Mail Service employees, as no harm ever came to the wokers while Owney was aboard the train with them.
These Disney stamps are part of the USPS's Send a Hello series, which encourages people to connect with loved ones through the mail. The stamps feature Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars, Remy the Rat and Linguini from Ratatouille, Buzz Lightyear and the green-eyed aliens from Toy Story, Carl Fredricksen and Dug from Up, and the robot WALL*E from WALL*E.

Owney got stuffed after he died. You can visit him at the U.S. Postal Museum in Washinton, D.C.
We enjoy getting interesting stamps for our outgoing mail...we'll have to pick up some of these.

We've been on the outlook for the Disney Pixar stamps, but in our search I've learned that not all post offices are creaed equal! The places I've gone have not received Disney stamps yet. I'll keep looking though! The Civil War stamps look very interesting as well. Thanks for the info and the great list. High 5
