Augusta is Maine's capitol city and with Maine's current budget woes I can see where this law was coming from. Imagine if all the voters in Maine, who have had enough of tax increases, got out their violins and started marching down the street in front of the Capitol in protest. Imagine the noise!
So much for just pulling over to run in and get a cup of joe and a donut. This law was obviously created after DD set up--I wonder if this particular town meeting caused an uproar.
I've been in many cemeteries in my life researching my ancestry and not once have I ever seen an advertisement in one. What would you advertise in a graveyard? Love to have comments on this one.
I can see the reasoning behind this; you don't want loose mercury all over town, but what about all those people who already had them? Are they going to send in the mercury police to confiscate them?
As a pedestrian, I get this. Those little whippersnappers are all over the place, weaving in and out of pedestrian traffic. Make 'em ride right down the center of the road and let them weave in and out of traffic.
I'm glad to know these these things! I'd hate to get arrested!
Love it. Ya'll have got some great laws like we do in Oklahoma. As for advertising in cemeteries...
Churches, funeral homes, monument makers, other cemeteries, medical insurance, florists, life insurance...the list goes on and on. Tacky, yes, but it could be a real moneymaker for those twisted enough to advertise there.
How crazy is this!? Love it!!
Hilarious! I'm with you -- I've never seen an advertisement in a cemetery. Certainly not trying to market to the residents....
