Here are some of the things I, and many of you, have had happen to you in bowling and how disappointed they can be.
Nothing makes you feel worse than throwing a pretty good ball into the pocket and seeing the hardest pickup in bowling staring you down in the face. Typically, this will result in you blindly staring at the pin deck thinking of all the evil things you want to do to it, as well as what you might have done in the past to deserve this.
There is only one way to bowl over a 290, but not bowl a 300. YOu have to throw the first 11 strikes and then either choke or get robbed. I have only done this once, thworing a 297 game, which if you are counting is the third highest game you can bowl and still be disappointed in. My result of this game was a choke, followed by a few choice words, and quite a bit of beer drank when I got home.
Few things feel worse in bowling than doing great in the qualifying round, bowling great in match play, and having one more game to go to hoist the trophy and the big paycheck, and then to lose. If it was ok for men to cry in public, I think I would have when this happened to me.
For a right hander, leaving the 8 pin only, and for a left hander, the 9 pin only, is a very bad break. Were the pins out of alignment? Did the mechanic hold it still after you threw the shot? Whatever the reason, this is very bad luck and never makes you feel good, especially if you are on a run of strikes.
This one I have yet to accomplish, and hopefully will avoid prior to my first 800 series. You have to throw a lot of strikes to bowl an 800. An 800 series is averaging a 267, which requires you to throw around 9 or 10 strikes. Basically, you need to bowl around 30 out of 36 strikes just to bowl the 800. If you miss it by one strike and shoot 1 790, that is quite the accomplishment.
Many people have not, and would love to bowl a 790 series, or even a 290 + game. When I bowled my 297 I was told that I should not be mad or disappointed or mad. Almost bowling a perfect game is a great game. I tell them that almost jumping across the alligator pit might be a great jump, but if I am a little short, I would be very disappointed.
I stopped by to give you another h5
