In a small house one learns tips that give more space to the homeowner. These uses for baskets will help you too as well as add to your decorating ideas too. Baskets can be bought for a dollar at the dollar store or for under $5 at Wal-Mart.
Instead of letting the mail accumulate on the counter or table top, put all the mail in the basket until you go through it later. This is a good way to stay or start to be organized. You might want to choose to hang one basket on the wall in the kitchen for gathering your mail.
Do you have to search the bottom of the purse for the keys to the car, the house and the mailbox? Try putting those important things in a basket hung right at the front door or near garage. The location can be anywhere you won't be bumping into it with each entry to your home.
Dog and cat toys can be a hazard if left lying around and most often times, one toy at a time is good enough. This basket can be placed in garage or laundry room where the animals can have a toy to play with anytime. Put the basket low enough so they can dig one out by themselves. You know you will be putting them back, don't you?
Place several small hand or finger towels in a hanging basket in the bathroom to help with storage. Place a fragrant soap in with the towels to keep them sweet smelling.
When you go to visit a sick friend at their home, bring a homemade gift basket of their favorite items with your thoughtful get well card. You can also bring a gift basket to someone when you stay at their home for a day or two. Fruit and goodies will be fun to find in those presents when you give them to others.
Thanks for sharing this list. Great job.

I use a peacock basket that is hanging on my kitchen door. It helps keep things organized. Great list!
