This game was the first to introduce this playing format along with a main character that can jump. It was the first Nintendo game to break into the North American market.
Qbert was an arcade game developed and published in 1982. It is a platform game consisting of 2 dimensional graphics featuring a tube nosed character. The object of the game is to change the color of every cube he lands on in the pyramid while avoiding obstacles and enemies. The success of this game resulted in various sequels and merchandise.
Joust was an arcade game that was released in 1982. It is a platform game that features 2 dimensional graphics. The player uses a button and joystick to control the main character which is a knight riding on a flying ostrich. The object of the game is to progress through levels by defeating different groups of enemy knights riding on flying buzzards.
