There are hundreds of sites and books available offering tips for new parents and catering to nearly every need that one can imagine. Being a new parent isn't easy and it's not something you are taught how to do in school. So take advantage of the parenting advice out there when questions arise that is what they are there for.
New parents often find themselves worn out and this can in part be alleviated by working as a team. Take shifts tending to your new bundle of joy whether you alternate by feedings or by days. This will give you more time to enjoy being new moms and dads. -This was one of the best parenting tips that was passed on to me by my mom-
It is hard to get away when you have a new little one at home but it can be extremely important to take the time and do it at least once a month. Let Grandma or someone you trust babysit for a couple of hours and get out and do something you enjoy whether that be a walk, dinner out, a movie or simply relaxing with a good book.
Get into a routine - this is beneficial to both you as new parents and to your child(ren). A brand new baby is rarely going to take immediately to a routine as this is all just as new to them as to you but over the course of time it will pay off to have a semi-routine for feedings (though they always need to be fed when they are hungry-regardless of routine), baths, nap time or play time.
Keep a camera around and capture everything. They grow up so fast and pictures and videos are the key to making sure all those memories can be passed on and revisited.
They are only young once so enjoy it while you can. Though days can sometimes seem to last forever when they are grown you will wonder where all the time went!
On an end note - talk to your doctor or your child's pediatrician often you will find they have access to or are a great resource for parenting tips and advice.
Good parenting advice for new parents. I acutally knew a man who got up, took baby and brought that baby to a sleeping nursing mom. Now that is team work. h5 list.
Good advice!
