Most of the national news programs originate in New York City and sometimes I think they forget that most of the country is not like New York City.
NYC schools may start school the Tuesday after Labor Day, but the vast majority of the rest of us start school in August. Your Back to School news stories in September make no sense to us.
Since we start school earlier, we get out earlier. Why are you talking about school graduations during the third week in June? We're already on vacation.
There are very very few places in this country where you can live without a car and a drivers license. Most of us have never set foot on public transportation, so stories on mass transit are a little hard to relate to.
Do we really have to pretend that winter means making snowmen, being cold, sledding and wearing coats and hats when that is just not our reality? Those things are about as real to us as Santa is. You are stereotyping the winter season with your images of snow. And I won't even mention that for some of us, summer is the time where we are trapped indoors. Don't tell us to go outside and play when it's 113 degrees outside.
Do you all see what kind of clothes people wear outside of New York City? It's not what you see going down the runway. Not even close.
