Are you trying to cut back on your lifestyle? Every American could do this and not starve or feel deprived. We, as a country, are conspicuous consumers and returning to a simpler lifestyle would reduce our stress and our blood pressure. If you would like a few tips to spending less than you earn, read on.
You need to find out exactly the amount of money you have after taxes. This is a no brainer, but many people don't really know. Write down this amount and start from there.
Awareness is everything. If you do not know how much you have and how much is going out, you can't plug the leak in your spending.
Every family wastes up to 50% of the food they buy. Don't be that family. Make a game of using leftovers and clean out your fridge. It will save you a lot of money.
Go through your stuff and evaluate what is essential. Sell the rest. Sell on Craigslist, sell on Ebay, have a garage sale, put it on Facebook. This will make you money and save you money.
Get a second job. Make money online through writing articles, doing survey's, affliate selling, gaming. Offer to babysit, dog walk, house sit, put up Christmas decorations. Everyone needs a second income stream.
As you evaluate your lifestyle, you will find ways to cut back and live within your means.
I'm horrible about the food thing. About a month ago, I decided not to do any major grocery shopping until the pantry is cleaned out. My my estimate, I've got about another 2 weeks left. =0)
Excellent. I tend to be bad about emptying out the frig...until I have too much food. It's awful. But I'm getting better because I am really trying to practice frugality. Anyway, sorry for the long comment...I get talkative with my fingers sometimes, ha! Great list!
