Electronic capabilities today make sending e-mails much more convenient, and less expensive, than sending a traditional thank you note. Don't fall into the trap of convenience by taking the less personal route to thank someone. Get back to the basics by sending a thank you note with real meaning and thought behind it.
Cut a piece of card stock in half, width-wise, and fold in half. This simple homemade card can be embroidered, sewn, painted, stenciled, decoupaged, stamped and creatively decorated in so many other ways. Recycle paper and large mailing envelopes to create a fun thank you note. Use natural resources, such as a fall leaf that has been sealed with waxed paper, to decorate a fall thank you note.
Seek out unique postcards to send thank you notes on. Search the stationary sections of retail department stores, museums, historical locations, hotels/motels, and other attractions for postcards.
Write a letter to say thank you. Write your letter by hand versus typing it out and printing it from your home computer. By hand writing your letter, you are letting the recipient feel appreciated. Consider decorating a plain piece of printer paper with markers, colored pencils, stickers or water paints.
Send a memorable photograph or purchase any type of event tickets to say thank you with. A personal photo, perhaps connected to the reason of the thank you note, is a fun way to say thank you to someone.
Go public with your grand thank you note. Write a letter to the editor thanking a local service, emergency or other public services in your community.
Enjoy writing your thank you note in a creative fashion. Have fun and thank someone today.
