Perennials are the perfect flowers to plant in your yard or flower beds because they come back year after year. Perennials bloom in the spring and will liven you any area in your yard with beautiful blooms. So what should you plant for a variety of bright colors?
Jacob's Ladder produces a violet flower and has varigated foliage. It's a pretty plant even when it is not blooming! The flowers produce a a sweet aroma and are pretty planted alone in a flower bed or along with other plants of different colors.
This flower comes in a variety of species and colors. They normally need partial shade to grow and thrive in soils that drain well. Plant the primrose in spring for flowers in the summer. Thin plants after blooming and share with a friend or neighbor!
Columbine plants produce some big and bold colored flowers that are also great for attracting butterflies to your yard. They are available in red, yellow, white, blue, pink or purple blooms.
Sweet Violet is an early bloomer and starts producing flowers as early as February. You can expect pretty purple blooms through April, but then they fade away. The plant itself has beautiful heart shaped leaves. This is another plant that should be thinned out after blooming.
This flower produces a gorgeous hot pink flower that looks great mixed in with another perennial that produces purple or lilac blooms. It blooms in mid spring and continues to bloom on and off until the fall.
