Introduction:

Here are the details for the Jason Castro Community Art Charity Auction which is the original idea of one "Aspiring Dana". I have coordinated with Dana to bring you these details as I know this project has been a long time in the making. Dana aka "Aspy" as she's known to many, has worked tirelessly putting these pieces together for the upcoming auction. The supporting links below the article will guide you to photos and videos.

How Long Has This Project Been In the Making?

Dana, "This project has been going on since August 2009! Since that time I've had two unfortunate problems, One health related that landed me in the hospital for two surgeries on my leg for a week! The other was an extermination mishap in my new home that took me out of the house for a week while I spent a second week doing a toxic clean up! Additionally, I was very slow to produce and I really regret that. Its taken me a year too long to do this project."

What Can You Tell Us About the Contributors?

Dana, "We had upwards of 50+ contributors, mostly from the U.S. , but one special contributor was from S. Africa ! Additionally, Jason, his Dad Rene, and Jason's Tour Director also contributed to the project! Jason was playing a a concert at a local restaurant/bar and I went to see him, paper and drawing materials in hand. He was very sweet to want to contribute. When I asked what charity he'd select, he was quite gracious and said that he'd leave that to his fans to decide and that he trusted that I'd see that things go well."

How Many Pieces Will Be Auctioned?

Dana, "At this time, there are about 25 pieces (with more to come) of "Artist's Proofs" and "Original Art" as well as some surprises!"
Elaine, "I can't wait to see the surprises."

Can You Give Us an Idea What the Bidding Will Start At?

Dana, "Bidding for "Artist's Proofs" will start at $10.00. "Original Work" will start at $20.00. There will also be a surprise factor! I have tapped several artists and we will be having "Featured Artist's Work" and that will begin at $35.00."
Elaine, "I would love to see the bids go way beyond these starting prices."

Proceeds and Other Details

100% of Proceeds will go to fan selected charities. There will be a $5 shipping fee added to each piece sold. Please check out the supporting links for more information and to join the discussion on Facebook.
