Beauty is uplifting if you open to it and appreciate it. (Maybe it is even if you're closed.) Flowers add color, symmetry, and variety to our lives. Each one is a mini-miracle of biology. Their presence touches and raises the human spirit.
Most people enjoy the smell of certain flowers. Stopping to smell the roses and lilacs is also free aromatherapy - a powerful way to calm, revitalize, and promote healing.
Flowers sprout, grow, bloom, and bite the dust - in a relatively short period of time. They teach us to look for the beauty or poignancy in every moment.
Flowers have an advantage over us - they don't over-think their lives. (If they do it's not apparent.) They also are at the mercy of pollen carriers and the wind. But, we have one thing in common with them: we can only grow, moment to moment, where we are.
If humans were flowers we would all want to be the kind we like best. I would choose to be a Tiger Lily. Flowers, however, are what they are and teach us (teach me anyway) that life IS the journey. We all have that journey in common.
Great reasons. I love flowers.
