Introduction:You know that you are supposed to love Christmas every year, no matter what, right?
Yes, of course I would love to hang these lights from the roof, in the freezing cold, with this frozen ladder. I don't see a safety hazard here. Even if I fall and break my neck, at least we'll have pretty lights.
I have seriously considered buying some original Nintendos and giving them out this year. "This gentleman's name is Mario. He doesn't need an ozie to defeat the bad guys. He just jumps on their heads. And he's Italian."
Breaking the news that Santa is only a capitalist mascot can be rough. Especially when it brings into question whether or not their will still be gifts.
Heaven forbid we have Christmas at our place. Instead, let's drive 2,483,059,275 miles in a blizzard with windshield wipers that should have been replaced last Christmas to end up at our destination cranky and late. Merry Christmas everyone!
As an adult, most of the people buying gifts for you have no clue who you are, let alone what you like. So, you are the new proud owner of socks, pants, tools (if you're a guy), and make-up (if you're a girl).
Isn't Christmas swell!
I actually really like Christmas, on a whole, I just think it's ridiculous to think that the entire holiday is supposed to be stress free, because, let's face it, it's not...at all...not even a little bit.
Let's stop calling it Christmas "vacation" because it's not. Let's refer to Christmas as "Work, followed by a brief bit of relaxing for about an hour while everyone opens presents, and then keep working yearly event."
Who's with me?
hehe. I like Christmas however these are good points. Funny list.
Christmas can be a lot of work, and it's easy to lose perspective, especially for moms who feel like they do it all: the cleaning, the shopping, the decorating, the baking, the decorating, the wrapping .... I confess my favorite part is the quiet week AFTERWARDS when everything is done!
Tracy, I am certainly envious. I would LOVE to have a Christmas in which I chill. CHILL. It has yet to happen. You should write a post on 5 reasons how to chill during Christmas, because despite my best effort is has never happened.
Christmas if my favorite Holiday. We don't travel. We don't worry about the decorations.. I put up what I want when I can. We don't rush around through the busy shopping traffic, We finished our shopping in October. We spend Christmas (monday after chirstmas as I can't get christmas day off) with our kids. We open gifts nice and early. Get finger foods all day and spend the next two days playing with them. We make Christmas all about kids because they are only young once and for such a short time.
I like to think the Monday after Christmas is my vacation.
