According to recent studies, sunscreen may be raising the cancer rates. Summer is a great time of the year, but we need to remember the sun is good as long as you don't get too much. Sunscreen is also good, but only if it is made with safe, natural ingredients. Chemicals in sunscreen are just as dangerous as a bad sunburn and can secrete toxins into your bloodstream. Most people have no idea what these chemicals are and trust the makers for their safety. Do you know what these chemicals are and how toxic they are? Benzophenones, PABA, PABA esters, Cinnamates, Salicylates, Digalloyl trioleate, Menthyl anthranilate and Avobenzone.

Increase the Risk of Cancer

Organic chemists are totally aware of the dangers of the free radical chemicals in sunscreen. According to Professor Howard Maibach, USSF School of Medicine-Dermatology, up to 35 per cent of sunscreen enters the bloodstream. The cellular damage done by the chemical compounds in sunscreens are much more dangerous than the sun. These carcinogens in sunscreens bake into your skin and blood, raising the risk of cancer. Estrogen Effects

The free radical chemicals in sunscreen not only increase cancer risks, they has similar effects like DDT, PCBs and Dioxin. The estrogen chemicals mimic female hormones, feminizing tissue and can cause a host of other problems. Examples of these hormonal health problems in women are headaches, menstrual irregularities, severe PMS, uterine cysts and several other health issues. Men can experience feminized sexual identity, lowered sperm counts, blocked or reduced male imprinting in brain and testicular cancer.

Affects Mother's Breast Milk

Estrogenic chemicals in the breast milk of mothers can disrupt the hormone system of the nursing child. Early development and childhood diseases are just a few of the dangers of the free radicals in sunscreen.

Unborn Children

The baby in the womb can be affected by the chemicals in sunscreen. If a mother has been exposed to a lot of the sunscreen toxins, it can hinder the gender development of the baby, as well as produce male organs on a developing female baby. The mental changes can cause sex-role confusion in the child later in life.

Environmental Pollutants and Harming the Animals

The chemicals in sunscreen can do the same damage to the environment and animals as DDT has done. According to Dr. Michael Fry, University of California, seagulls on Santa Barbara Island display increased lesbian traits by building nests and trying to hatch eggs. Examinations of male seagulls discovered that they had feminized sex organs that were altered by DDT, and other environmental pollutants.
