Sphere Lenses

Correct your vision with sphere lenses. These can correct near and distance problems. A patient may just need distance only for both eyes. Other patients can use one eye to see near and the other eye to see distance, which is called monovision. If a patient does not need correction for distance, the eye doctor may have the patient wear just one contact lens to see near.

Contact Lenses for Astigmatism

Astigmatism is an eye condition where the eye is not a sphere shape like it should be, rather it is more of an oval shape. It basically means that the eye cannot focus as properly. Sphere contact lenses cannot fully correct astigmatism issues. That is why there are contact lenses that are made specifically for patients with this eye problem. These contacts are very comfortable. When the person puts these contact lenses on, he may notice a slight blurriness if the lens is not positioned properly. But within a few minutes the lens will orientate itself and the vision should be best correction that is possible at that time.
These are also knows as toric contact lenses.

Colored Contact Lenses

If you want to change your eye color, go ahead with colored contact lenses. Anybody can wear colored contacts as long as an eye doctor approved it. These types of contact lenses are made to last one day or up to a year. People who have astigmatism can also wear colored contacts. Also, people who wear monovision to correct farsighted issues can use colored contacts as well.

Night and Day Contact Lenses

These are extended wear contact lenses that can be worn up to a month. Theses lenses are made to allow more oxygen in the eye and have less dryness. Sometimes patients who do not care to sleep with contacts still use these lenses because of the comfort.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multi-focal contact lenses are for patients for have trouble seeing near due to presbyopia. With these contact lenses, older patients can enjoy seeing everything clearly without the use of glasses. Multi-focal contact lenses are like progressive glasses because they deliver an overall vision correction to all distance.




Final Thoughts

Contact Lenses need to be prescribed by an optometrist or other eye doctor. It does not matter if you have perfect vision and you want colored contact lenses, you still need a valid prescription from a doctor. You eye health is something that should be never be ignored.
