There are some early symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease that can be overlooked. Many people as well as medical professionals, focus on memory loss.
One of the early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease is a change of personality. A person can start saying and doing things that are out of character for them. It may be subtle at first, so their behavior is not questioned. Perhaps a positive person will begin being negative or a calm person will have a few anger issues. A person who never curses will begin cursing or saying inappropriate things.
Early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease can often include avoiding anything complicated. It becomes increasingly difficult to perform several steps at a time. People who have this problem have never experienced this before. It is difficult to do anything complicated or to follow directions. It becomes hard for them to follow through on plans or to do any kind of problem solving.
Another of the early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease includes problems with visual depth perception. Driving and walking can start to be difficult because it is hard to tell differences in colors or to judge distances. It may become difficult to recognize familiar things and places. Tripping can start to be a problem.
It may be complicated to start finding the correct words in the early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. It may be hard to think of a word. We can all do this, but it becomes increasingly difficult for a person suffering from this type of dementia. Often, the wrong word will come out and the person will not even recognize it.
When a person is having early symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, they start to feel their is something wrong and that they are losing control of their mind. This is when avoidance of other people begins to happen. It appears as though they have no interest in family and friends when they are actually avoiding embarrassment.
Alzheimer's is a sad thing to see in those we love.
