I think we all understand to one degree or another that we create our own luck. Sorry to say that if you are one of those that says, "nothing good ever happens to me", this list probably isn't for you. On the other hand, if that is you, perhaps you should read on and try a few of these tricks out and see if your luck improves.
Perhaps an attitude adjustment is in order. After all, if you expect a setback, you won't take positive steps to bring about a positive outcome to whatever you are going through. If you expect things to go well, your actions will support that-and even though things won't work out positively every time, the odds shift in your favor.
If you are afraid to share an idea because someone else might get credit for it, you might have let opportunity slip through your fingers. That's just one example of an opportunity that will never have a chance to materialize. Evaluate where you have trouble trusting people, where you let low self-esteem get the best of you, and where your creativity is being stifled.
It doesn't take much of a shift for most of us to connect with people on a greater level and more opportunities come to people that people actually like. Smile a little more, reach out to people who have expertise and influence a little more, and engage in active listening and conversation.
Find the silver lining in everyday situations that would crush average people. Doesn't it make good sense that if you were able to develop this habit that you might salvage a few more situations that you normally would have found unpleasant? How well do you think this might work in a business setting? It might just be the kind of thinking that gets someone promoted!
When things aren't working as well as we think they should-or as well as we think we deserve them to, we tend to get bent out of shape. Don't surrender so quickly! This is a good time to back away and literally count to ten. Often times, it really is mind over matter.so don't make an emotional decision when a logical decision is called for. Think it through and make the best decision with the information you have available-and it might be a good time to get some wise counsel from someone you feel will have your best interest at heart.
I really do believe that we create our own luck a lot of the time-doesn't mean that we ought to go buy a lottery ticket (although, you can't win if you don't). It does mean that how we perceive and handle situations matter. Take some of these and try them out, I think you'll find that you will roll with the punches life throws at you a whole lot better.
You are right. positive attitude is huge. we need to be flexible and resilient, and to see the opportunity.
Luck and hard work are the two sides of coin, can't happen simultaneously in most cases! So replace anyone of these by self belief, work gets accomplished !

Good article. Luck is when preparation and hard work meet opportunity!
I wrote something similiar to this a few years ago. I named it How To Create Your Own Destiny. This list is good food for thought. Great timing! Perfect for today when people are feeling uncertain about what direction they should head in their life.
I don't think this is a luck list. I don't believe luck is in my life at all.Good list for improving ones outlook.
