Re-gifting is when you get a gift and it does not suit you, so you in turn give it as a gift to someone else.
The reason why you are not keeping the gift should be thought about before you give it to someone else. If you truly cannot use it and really don't want to keep it, you have some good ideas why you want to re-gift that item.
Just before you put that gift into the re-gifting zone, look at several points so you will be re-gifting for the correct reasons. Someone gave you that gift thinking you would like it or could use it.Some thought went into choosing that gift for you so finally and deeply recall the purpose of that gift to you and from the person who gave it to you also.
Wow, just be very careful not to ever re-gift to the person who gave it to you. That could be such a hurtful thing to do to the giver of that gift to discover you did not like it to keep it. Furthermore they might just remember why they gave it to you, so the hurt to that person can be so very bad if they get it back.
When someone likes something you own and you want to give it to another person that re-gifting is the ultimate greatness of re-gifting. Even if the person that gave it to you knows you gave it away, they just might think it is a wonderful action you did by re-gifting that item.
Re-gifting can be a great event for everyone involved with certain criteria met. One is that the person that you are giving your gift to really would like to have the item you are giving. One of my favorite sayings is:"Don't give me pancakes when I would like French toast". That same thought has to be applied to re-gifting. The person who will be receiving the re-gifted item should want or need that gift and it should not be given simply because you want to get rid of it.
