Legendary Cosmopolitan magazine editor has passed away. She was 90 years old.
She also wrote the best-selling book "Sex and the Single Girl."
She was Cosmopolitan's editor from 1965 to 1997. In her book, she wrote about how unmarried women had premarital sex and enjoyed their sexuality, which was shocking in early-60s America.

She was an author, businesswoman and publisher.
In the 60s, she was an outspoken advocate for women's sexual freedom.
She played a part in the sexual revolution.
Her and her husband David began the Brown Institute for Media Innovation. Their $30 million donation to establish the institution is split between Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism as well as Stanford University's Engineering School. It will be used to develop journalism with new technologies.
